Using AI To Tell A Story
I had a blast helping create this AI-centric campaign for Lenovo’s Sales Teams and Partners. With Windows 10 support expiring, we needed to help get our sales teams and reps focused on selling the upgrade to Windows 11. We used AI to quickly create a unique video series to drive awareness and educate our audience. The 4-part video series we created helped tell the story of an urgent rocket launch through the eyes of a Mission Control Lead and the Captain of a space ship called “The 11th Hour.” By using the metaphor of launching a rocket into space and delivering the Windows 11 upgrade to a space station, we created an entertaining way to get our Sales Team and Partners excited.
Making The Characters
First, we made references for the characters using Midjourney and ChatGPT. We crafted the Mission Control Leader with actors like Ed Harris and Bruce Willis in mind, landing on the portrait to the left. Then we created references for the mission control area. To ensure consistency in characters across multiple scenes, we had ChatGPT provide a detailed description of our character, then used that in every prompt.
Creating Our Captain
The process was the same with our Captain. We modeled her with actresses like Zoe Soldana in mind. We also created our hero image as a portrait and in an astronaut suit.
Crafting The Story
Next, we wrote the scripts detailing out a 4-episode series complete with visual direction for the AI visuals we would need. From there, we worked with our editor to craft the videos in Veo3. We provided more references for the rockets, the ship, and the space station as well.
Building The Ecosystem
We housed the video series on a landing page that contained the sales leaderboard for the campaign as well as helpful sales tools like battle cards, playbooks, deal information and more. We also created trading cards and packaging for the sales team winners, too.
