Using AI To Tell A Story

I had a blast helping create this AI-centric campaign for Lenovo’s partnership with Microsoft. With Windows 10 support expiring, we needed to help get Lenovo’s sales teams and reps focused on selling the upgrade to Windows 11. We used AI to quickly create a unique video series to drive awareness and educate oour audience. Part of the Windows 11 upgrade featured a more robust version of Microsoft’s Copilot AI assistant. I came up with the idea to show a world where Copilot acted as the literal Copilot of a ship traveling across the universe with the goal of ultimately upgrading their entire fleet to Windows 11. We saw Copilot perform a variety of admin tasks interwoven with some intergalactic fun and adventure.

Creating Our Captain

First, we made references for the characters using Midjourney and ChatGPT. We crafted the Mission’s captain landing on the portrait to the left. Then we created references for the entire ship on the inside and out. To ensure consistency in characters across multiple scenes, we had ChatGPT provide a detailed description of our character, then used that in every prompt.

Crafting The Story

Next, I wrote the scripts for a 4-episode series complete with visual direction for the AI visuals we would need. From there, we worked with our editor to craft the videos in Veo3. We provided more references for the ships, the planets, and the alien life forms. Check out a few videos from the series below.

Building The Ecosystem

We housed the video series on a landing page that contained the sales leaderboard for the campaign as well as helpful sales tools like battle cards, playbooks, posters, deal information and more. We also created trading cards and packaging for the sales team winners, too.
