An Age Old Tourism UX Problem

Most tourism sites suffer from the same problem - lots of content, but no real context that makes it easy to plan a trip to multiple places. That’s why my team and I developed ScoPilot (named after one of our agencies, Scoppechio) - a customized, mobile interactive tool designed to make it easier to plan trips for tourism destinations.

So when Ohio was looking for a way to connect people to a variety of interesting trails dedicated to beer, wine, ice cream, donuts, history and more, we used out interactive tool to create a one-of-a-kind map experience that focused on content in context.

We tapped into Google Maps API, Google Places listings, a simple UX system, a sleek design, and a lot of great content to help users find things to do quickly and easily while creating a custom itinerary. The work below showcases a quick case study around the Ohio Trails use case and it’s success.

Ultimately, the ScoPilot tool my team and I created was utilized by numerous clients with lots of great success stories.

Putting Our Tool To Use For Clients

The interactive Trails interface we created with ScoPilot was a huge success. It attracted over 50,000 users within the first month of launch and increased time on site for their visitors from less than 1 minute to over 2.5 minutes. Take a look at how it worked for Ohio below.
